Jupiter Farms is a semi-rural area of about 16 square miles west of the Town of Jupiter. Since there is a lot of open space, Toll Bros. had the opportunity to build the Jupiter Country Club here. And since there is no HOA, people do as they please and keep horses to ride along the dirt streets.
Homes for sale in Jupiter Farms sit on lots of 1.25 acres of more up to 20 acres. Houses range from modest, wooden frame houses built in the 1970's up to the current construction going up on recently cleared lots with private pools.
And since Jupiter Farms is a dedicated equestrian area, we need a good tack and feed store. Ours is called Town & Country and is located on the eastern side of The Farms on Jupiter Farms Road. It's situated just north of the old Burt Reynolds property that never materialized into the film studio he projected. We do still have the Burt Reynolds Museum in town since BR is Jupiter's most famous son. And his house in Tequesta on the Intracoastal Waterway on 3+ acres that can be yours for around $ 8 million.
Town & Country is a great place to meet animal lovers of all kinds. Although it is primarily targeted at the horse owners, they have supplies for all types of animals from chickens and pigs to cows and goats since you can own them all in Jupiter Farms. A trip to the store for feed will mean you will certainly see signs alerting you to the availability or lack of certain types of hay for your horses. During the spring, they buy day-old chicks and sell them offering different species each time. And if you don't know your chickens, they can help educate you. Of course, there is the mandatory resident cat who sleeps on the counter and the bulletin board that always has something interesting on it. I think the cat goes on duty after the sun goes down and the mice come out to play. It's a fun place to stop by anytime of the year.
