Blah Turned Spa - a home staging transformation

By
Home Stager with Reveal Estate Home Staging - Vancouver

Consider this typical 1980's bathroom. Although large, clean and functional the overall appearance is dated and rather sterile. Can you imagine relaxing in that tub? With the door left open attention is centered around the bidet, leaving buyers with a less than desirable impression.

With a small investment in accessories, the dated design is downplayed and the functionality of this space is highlighted. New life is breathed into the room by adding plants, complimentary prints, and coordinating linens.

Candles, soap and extra towels provide the finishing touch and help buyers imagine a soothing escape.

Kimberly, the typo was an easy mistake to make. I agree totally with you regarding towels hanging on hooks. In this room removing the pre-existing (and eye level) bulky hooks was not an option so using towels was the next best thing.

Phyllis, I am not a fan of the bidet either, fortunately we don't come acoss them very often here.

Jackson - I love what you've done!  As for the towels on the hook, I thought it mixed things up a bit and I liked it!  You do beautiful work.  Anyone looking to hire you would not be disappointed.

Congratulations.  Your post is being featured within the group Staging Before & After Pictures.

Jackson:  Love the conservatory/spa feel with the green and the (rusty) planters/urns!  Very fresh!  And SOAP - keeps you thinking "clean", as well as adding fresh scent - I'm going to use it in the future!  Julie

Jackson, what a beautiful transformation you have done!  The before and afters are like night and day.  If these pictures don't convince realtors and sellers the value of a good home stager - nothing will.  Betty

Kathy, thank you for the towel comment and featuring this post!

Melissa, I hold your work in high regard so your comment means a great deal to me. I am still trying to figure out how you do all that you do and still have time to write interesting and informative posts.

Joelle, thanks for stopping in, let me know the next time you are headed to N. Van and I could possibly meet you there to check out the new "shop".

Julia, I bought two of those urns with long "grass" in them for the very first property I staged. Since then they are always in use. I wish I would have bought more of them and haven't seen any since. I like your comment about how soap keeps you thinking clean, it would go well with my little blog on soap

Betty, thanks for the compliment, "seeing is believing! Now if I could just find time to update my website...

Lori, green really worked in this room and the "greenery" injected some much needed life!

Nancy, and Susan, I appreciate your kind feedback. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Jackson: What a difference! Only our Jackson West can make an 80's bathroom look sooooo inviting! LOL!  Between this and your soap blog, you've got me motivated to break out the 20 bars of Life soap I have in storage (long story...great deal!)

Like the new picture too! It's good to keep changing it up but I miss your cool glasses just a little bit. :)

Oh, oh - Jackson has gone green & I am green with envy at how good it looks.

Oh, those brassy knobs are towels hanger - I see - I like the ready to go towels, a little causal in the mix.

Very nice transformation, Jackson, as usual!  I love the crisp, inviting clean look of your staging.  You should photograph your staging projects for a "how to" book!!

Jackson - new profile picture - looks great.  It actually makes me think of you in a whole different way. (An even better way)  You know how you make assumptions about people based on pictures?  I did love your other one with the glasses too.  What made you change it?  Betty

Jackson - so nice to see the white and green - those are the colors that I use quite often.  I love green and my home has lots of green in it.  Reminds me of the outdoors.  I really like your ideas about soap as well.  Beautiful transformation - great job.
