Lender Needed For Foreign National

 

ladybugI have clients from South Africa trying to buy a second home in Las Vegas.The Problem being most of the companies that I have been dealing with have tightened up the criteria that they don't qualify.  The home is for $130000 and they would like to put down 30% or more .They can put down 50%.  They have no credit stateside , nor do they have a social security number in the USA.  They do own a corporation here in Las Vegas.

He applied with a firm in Florida and they gave him a preapproval letter.  He paid an upfront fee and , now the lender is backing out.  We are supposed to hear something by Monday, but the future doesn't look bright.

I wouldn’t think it would be that hard if they own a corporation here. Don’t corporations have to pay corporate taxes, so wouldn’t they have some sort of corporate ID? Maybe the corporation could buy the home if they do, indeed, own the corporation.

The corporation doesn't have credit.  It is not a shelf corporation, and was started for the purpose of buying this home.  But thanks anyway.pistachio
