I have lived in the Seattle area for about 18 years and most of the time the winter weather isn't a problem. Over time, one get's used to the near continuous rain and drizzle this time of year. I'll admit that for the past two years it's beginning to wear on me a bit, so i decided to hop down to sunny California for a four day visit. I grew up in Newport Beach and still have family and friends in the area so that was my destination.
What a great rejuvenation experience it was, just to languish about in the warm sun and wander around my old haunts. Anyway, the reason I'm mentioning this is just to let you know how important a quick retreat is to one's attitude. The next time you feel blue or just bored and indifferent, think about a quick trip away. It worked very well for me and may be just what you need too.
This is what I saw when I arrived just above "Big Corona" beach in Corona Del Mar.
