Boulder County, New Lafayette Restaurant
Senior Gomez is a new restaurant in downtown Lafayette, Co owned and operated by Jorge Gomez who also owns and operates the popular Efrains Mexican restaurant also located in downtown Lafayette.
Jorge took over the building which was previously the home of Casa Alverez. It has been tastefully updated, freshly painted and is now open for some of the best breakfast food around. Senior Gomez is only open for breakfast and lunch. Today, I chose the Mexican omelet which included yummy and flavorful ingredients like eggs, chorizo (a spicy Mexican sausage), jalapenos, onions and cheese, topped with a dollop of sour cream (definitely NOT low cal, but then you have to splurge once in awhile, right?). And, of course, I had to top it off with a taste of their famous Efrain's green chili. This entree also included a generous helping of breakfast potatoes. Delicious! Be prepared to request a take out box, definitely a LOT of food for all but the heartiest of appetites!
The menu also includes a good variety of traditional American breakfast choices for those who want something a bit less spicy. Lunch choices include a wide variety of salads, burgers and, of course, burritos!
Senior Gomez has two large banquet rooms upstairs for private parties and/or meetings, and a nice outdoor patio for those who like to enjoy the fresh Colorado air (just not in January).
If you haven't tried Senior Gomez, you're in for a real treat!
