A wise seller will always make sure there is nothing in need of repair that will break the deal.  Ignoring an obvious defect and hoping the buyer won't notice is so yesterday.  We now work in an age of tranparency, with very thorough home inspections.  You can bet the defect will get found.

Finding and fixing it sooner than later, makes good sense.
