The Importance of Staging, It's Not Just For Showings!

Staging you home is not "getting it ready to sale"! Staging your home is the last thing you do after you clean, paint, de-cluttered and make minor repairs. It is about dressing your home, beyond decorating it is about creating moods in your home.

We all know the big three things that sell your home, Location, Condition and Price, but there is a forth thing that I feel is just as important if not more so, crating moods in your home that make potential buyer fall in love with your home.

It's about creating spaces that people want to come in and sit down and stay. About creating moods of "I am welcome here", of moods "I want to live in this home, raise my kids here, provide for my family here, entertain my friends here, be the home that the kids want to play at, learn in, share in, love in and live in"!

I, like so many other real estate professionals provide a professional staging consultation with an interior decorator who know how to stage a home that buyers will want to own.

The consultation will help you decide paint colors if needed, how to best utilize what you have already in your home, create walking paths through the home, create areas of interest and areas to draw the buyers attention to. If you want more than just a staging consultation that is not a problem as each staging professional would love to work for you beyond the staging consultation, to help you decorate your home that is for sale and help you decorate the home you may be buying very soon.

Even if your planning on moving out of the home before you list your home for sale in the market staging still plays a vital role. Ask yourself, if i am in the market to buy a home and I am searching on the internet would I be drawn to a home that has pictures that show the home is vacant or would I be drawn to a home that has pictures of a staged property? I assure you that you will gravitate to homes who have pictures of a staged property.

There are two ways to provide this:

  1. Stage your home before you move out, have your Realtor come and take pictures of the stage home.
  2. Stage your home with rented furniture (added cost), there are many companies that will rent you rooms full of furniture, some at a reduced cost for homes that are on the market. Have your Realtor take pictures of the staged property with rented furniture.
Either way, stage your home, create moods and have a great time selling your home!
