When looking to purchase a home, not all REALTORS® are alike! Some of the things you may want to know before you hire an agent to represent you in the purchase of your next property:
Q Knows the market
One of the most important qualities of the agent you have chosen to help with the locating and purchase of your new property, is how well they know the local market. Are they familiar with the homes listed in the neighborhood? What do they know about the schools, the traffic, and re-sale value of the area?
Q Familiar with special requirements
Purchasing property in specialty areas can demand knowledge of special requirements. For instance, waterfront property may have special flood zones, or condominiums may have unknown purchasing requirements. Be sure your agent is familiar with the ‘type’ of property you are looking to acquire.
Q Training and knowledge
Not every agent has training or knowledge in every area. If you are looking to purchase a foreclosure or short sale, finding a REALTOR® who has experience or training could be your best bet.
