Sonoma Wine Country

I ran across this photo when organizing my personal picture library.  I just love it.  This was taken in Sonoma County, on a Wine Road weekend. I was reminded of the fabulous time we had there, when I recently got an email announcing an event coming up in March.  I live in the Livermore Valley, already a wine region.  But sometimes it's nice to get away for a weekend and experience something different. So, we've now made plans to go with another couple and attend the March Wine Road Barrel Tasting.

Here's another shot taken during the last trip there.

Karen, these are both exceptional photos! I tend to travel wine country without a camera in hand, simply soaking in the views.

We are certainly blessed in the Bay Area with the many wonderful options we have. Great pictures. Vickie has a pretty good idea too about just "soaking in the view".

Very tempting photos, Karen. After all our snow that looks like the perfect get-away.

Karen - Beautiful photos.  I have never been to Sonoma wine country but I have been to Temecula Wine Country and it was so beautiful.

Karen, Wine tasting is one of my favorite things to do when we need to get away for a day or so.  Our El Dorado County wineries are not too far away from us here in El Dorado Hills and the scenery is beautiful.  We've been to Napa and Sonoma too and love it there as well!!!

Beautiful photos Karen; Somona is beautiful country! While I've only been there once, I have a beach house on Long Island's North Fork and they have some beautiful vinyards and wineries too.

This is why I should be living in California!  A barrel tasting sounds like so much fun! You are lucky to be living there.

Thanks Lynda.

Vickie, you can be there just as fast as I can.  I have a camera with me always.  There's plenty of times that I don't pull it out, but this time I just couldn't resist. Especially since these shots were taken in November. It was gorgeous.

Doug, yes. Blessed we are.

Michael, you'll need to hang out at one soon. It's really fun.

Lee & Carol. Snow has its appeal too.

Rosalinda, I haven't been to Temecula. Will have to go there one of these days.

Dee Dee.  I have been to a couple of wineries up your way.  Don't ask me to name them though. My memory would fail me ;)

Kristine - a beach house on Long Island sounds awfully tempting. Heck, bring your own wine!

Denise - I have a mental bucket list, but haven't put it down on paper.  Maybe doing so will make it take shape. Hmmmm.

Peggy -  No argument here....

Norma - I'm a couple of hours away from there, but if you get that far......

Hi Karen,

I love the wine country all of them.  I was just recently at the Pleasanton, Livermore wineries and made a few photos.  I was wondering if you ever took the time to visit them as well.  Your posting is great and I enjoy following you.  Thanks..

Vincent - no I didn't.  Was that at Ruby Hill then?  There really aren't many wineries in Pleasanton.  VT's huh?  I'll keep that in mind.

Ben - that's pretty close. You have no excuse, go out and have some fun!
