Maricopa County Title Compliance Scam

Residents of Maricopa county began receiving letters this month from a company claiming that homeowners are in need of a copy of their property deed.

Received in the form of an official-looking document, this private company claims that residents can receive a copy of their property deed by sending a payment of $157.00 to the company, listed as having a P.O. Box address in Phoenix.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!

You can receive a copy of your property deed for FREE by contacting your title company.

If you would like a certified copy of your deed, you can contact the Maricopa County Recorder's Office online and order a copy for a nominal fee of about $2.00 per page requested.

According to resources across Maricopa County and the state of Arizona, Title Compliance is a company that doesn't even exist. If you receive any mailings or requests from a company by such name, you can contact the Recorder's Office and ask them any questions or concerns you may have with regard to your property deed.

*Recent reports show that letters have been received as far away as Kingman, Arizona, and in parts of Southern California as well.

If you need any assistance in locating your property deed, contact a Realtor or the Recorder's Office. The representatives are friendly and very willing to assist you in any questions you may have!
