Maricopa County Title Compliance Scam
Residents of Maricopa county began receiving letters this month from a company claiming that homeowners are in need of a copy of their property deed.
Received in the form of an official-looking document, this private company claims that residents can receive a copy of their property deed by sending a payment of $157.00 to the company, listed as having a P.O. Box address in Phoenix.
THIS IS A SCAM!!!
You can receive a copy of your property deed for FREE by contacting your title company.
If you would like a certified copy of your deed, you can contact the Maricopa County Recorder's Office online and order a copy for a nominal fee of about $2.00 per page requested.
According to resources across Maricopa County and the state of Arizona, Title Compliance is a company that doesn't even exist. If you receive any mailings or requests from a company by such name, you can contact the Recorder's Office and ask them any questions or concerns you may have with regard to your property deed.
*Recent reports show that letters have been received as far away as Kingman, Arizona, and in parts of Southern California as well.
