Nashville Weather is Fairly Moderate

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Franklin Homes Realty LLC

Today, we had a little taste of Spring in Nashville TN as the temperature reached 63 degrees.

While the temps can dip as low as 17 degrees in January and as high as 107 degrees in August, that is not the norm. Nashville weather is fairly moderate. The average low in January is 28 degrees. While the average high is 89 degrees in July. The humidity in Nashvile can be high during the summer months.

Nashville has four distinct seasons. It does snow in Nashville but only a few times a year and not usually more than a couple of inches. However, we have seen more than our fair share of snow the last couple of winters.

The Middle Tennessee area does experience tornados in the Spring and usually one is spotted or touches down here. Our largest rainfall typically appears in May with an average of 5 inches. In May 2010, however, Nashville received 17 - 18 inches of rain within a two day period. The result was massive flooding in the area.

Good info.  Middle Tennessee has had more than its share of snow this winter but nothing compared to what other parts of the country have gotten (and are getting now!).  Fun to look at the average temps for each month and realize that we really do have it good here in TN.  Never too cold or too hot for too long!

Tammie,

Your weather is much like ours. I enjoy our type of climate and it sounds like you enjoy Tennessee's. :)

Diane - I'm ready for spring as well.

Judi - I love the weather here. Are you close to Oklahoma City? I'm going to be there in a couple of days visiting Oklahoma City University with my daughter. I hope the weather is good while we are there.
