Have a Giraffey Day, Even if it is Cold and Snowy!

As we are in the middle of winter here in Michigan, I along with many others find us at this point at the end of January longing for spring. In Battle Creek we have the Binder Park Zoo, where it has a wonderful Giraffe exhibition.

During the cold winter months, the Giraffes are moved indoors, and are well cared for. I thought that today I would share a few photos here of the Giraffes, as a reminder of warmer weather to come. These were photos I took last year when visiting the Binder Park Zoo.

Michael these are such cute pictures. Giraffes are among my favorites. Several years ago I got to be in a pen with giraffes and fed them right from my hand.

Michael: Great pictures and they look like such gentle giants but did you know that they go crazy once in awhile and actually fight to the death. I don't think it is a common occurrence but there is a UTube that explains this weird trait that Giraffes have! San Diego has a wonderful Giraffe exhibit also, where you can actually feed them!
