Who Takes A Better Picture?

Does the camera take a better picture or do I?  I placed my camera on the table, waited for the Redwing Blackbird to show up and picked up the camera and tried to figure out the best settings.  I have been taking pictures for years but to make snap decisions can be difficult.  Here is my result.

Now I do the same thing with the camera on automatic.  How does it do that?
