" Houlton Maine VOR " Droned On The Lear Jet's Plane Speaker. "Lowering Landing Gear".

Real Estate Agent with MOOERS REALTY ME Broker License 106759

The long row of cobalt blue runway lights at Houlton Maine International Airport shined brightly, waiting for the landing of two Maine real estate buyers and their precious cargo.

houlton maine airport aerial Four cats that the owners did not want to subject to commercial air flights in to Bangor, Presque Isle or Portland Maine airports.

Houlton Maine's airport big in World War Two with lend lease. And then German prisoners of war housed in barracks there. Who helped area Maine potato farmers plant, cultivate, harvest golden spuds for the nation. The troops overseas in the war effort too.

When someone asks me if you can fly in to Houlton Maine, I say absolutely. This chartered jet from Washington state a good example. I listened to the pilot communicating with the tower after a call from the fixed base operator for Houlton Maine's airport.

They were forty miles out and slowing air speed, coming down out of the clouds honed in on the airports automated beacon to have the glide path calculations fed to an on board computer.

The cost for the flight for four cats and the pair of Maine real estate buyers was $15,000. The local car maine curious kittendealership, York Ford was there too.

Providing the pilots with a gassed up Taurus.

Complete with map and a friendly "Have a good night" greeting as the keys were exchanged at the Houlton International Airport.

The crew off for explore. To land somewhere to eat, restaurants in Houlton Maine.

The pilot and crew rented a couple rooms at a local motel, Iveys Motor Inn, flew out the next day.

With a "back haul" to the west coast. With a couple carefully packed not stacked. Belted inside with plenty of personal first class, only class space and all the perk pleasures. To silver wing jet from Boston heading to the touch down on the California coast.

And the passengers avoiding a commercial airline delay processing. With all those lines of not so happy  people. "All those germs" the spiffy looking jet pilot shared, reminded me with a smile.

The buyers for an Amity farm were cash purchasers. Buying property with the images, videos provided and tons of details. No bank, no real dickering or hard tire kicking or screaming on the price either. Just putting in an order to sell portfolio stocks for the cash wire transfer of funding. To cover the entire real estate closing, all of the property purchase sale.

One real estate broker advising too. On the total price for Maine property, the legal fees, transfer fees and property tax/oil  pro ration. Then bring in the local tradesmen to feather the nest, lair for the four cats. To support the local economy.

The couple had boatloads of Microsoft stock and just put in an order for a sell on a very small portion, chunk. Often the real estate buyers in rural Maine never been to Vacationland. Heard great things, always saying "some day".

This Maine farm buying couple made the leap across country. One upper corner to the other. And if outside marketing specifically geared for their community information and property needs had not delivered. Had not been posted all over the internet like the " Houlton VOR " airport homing beacon signal. Then they could have "landed" some where else. Maine, big state, friendlier people, unspoiled drop dead gorgeous four season recreation, scenery.

Thanks Charles. That is Canada to the right in the aerial. Houlton Maine parked right on the border to New Brunswick and that border beefed up since 911 to be a drag net for anyone not so warm and friendly and up to no good.

Jeff ... The longer range your real estate marketing, the further away your buyers, larger the market size for purchasers. Internet, gotta love it if you shake it, wiggle it just a little big.

Cindy ... They only stayed a year and resold as they moved on to another adventure.

Joe ... What we will do for our cats huh?

GS ... Meow.

CA ... Lots of Microsoft stock would be like owning a railroad car of Google shares or bars of wall to wall solid gold. All they wanted to know was total cost, no quibbling and put in the order to sell the stocks to convert to cash.
