Alton Brown Hosts Marietta Fundraiser

Real Estate Agent with Maximum One Realty Greater Atlanta

The Walker School in Marietta, Georgia is proud to host a fund raising event featuring none other than Alton Brown, host of Food Network's "Good Eats."

On Saturday Feb. 12th, Walker will feature "An Afternoon with Alton Brown" at 12:30 p.m. in the Coca-Cola auditorium. All proceeds will benefit the school's Annual Fund, the school's primary fundraising vehicle, which helps fund teacher wish lists, technology in classrooms, campus improvement, and financial aid.

Brown, one of the busiest culinary personalities today, plans to give a live demonstration that should be exciting and educational for a crowd of nearly 500 attendees. Between shooting "Good Eats," acting as the main commenter on "Iron Chef America", and authoring numerous cook books - including his most recent, Good Eats 2: The Middle Years - his dance card is certainly full. But he still made time to help The Walker School, where his daughter Zoe is a student.

Known for his quirky wit and teaching the science of cooking viewers, guests at the event can expect Brown to put on unique and engaging show. "One of the nice things about smaller shows like this," he said, "is that I get to play the house more. There will be a demonstration, but I also get to really engage the audience."

You can expect Brown to put give a demonstration on "an extreme version of a classic American dessert, with some unusual ingredients and some...extreme technology."

Brown's educational approach to home cooking, along with a healthy injection of humor, has kept his show "Good Eats" relevant for close to 15 seasons. "Laughing brains are more absorbent," Brown said, "which is why we have always kept entertainment at the forefront of our show."

Those who attend the show on the 12th will certainly be in for some entertainment. General admission tickets are $35, and include a book signing after the show. For $125/person, guests can get the VIP experience, including a luncheon with Brown at 11 a.m., special seating for the 12:30 show, a copy of his newest book and DVD, Good Eats 2: The Middle Years, an Alton Brown Gear salt cellar, and a dino sprayer. There are very few VIP tickets left, so get ‘em while they're hot, and invest in our children's education!

Hi Anne!  That sounds like so much fun......and Marietta is not too far of a drive from here.  Maybe I'll see if my daughter would like to go.
