QR Codes for real estate - HOW to track scans, and change targets

Real Estate Agent with Prudential, Cody homes,

This information is great, i find the site to be very easy to use and the tracking of the QR is fantastic. I print the QR on magnetic paper and stick it on my metal yard signs! also this is the first site that gives you a choice of colors.

A trackable QR code - Terkels ARGood Morning AR, as you know, I looked a little at this yesterday, and I have been working on it quite a bit with the office move and all.

Now that I have a reasonable solution, I want to take the time and share.

There has been a number of great posts recently on how to iplement the QR codes in your business, but I am sure many of you will agree, that lacking, has been any form of tracking what happens with those codes once you put them out there.

QReateBUZZ HomepageWhat if, you could create a code where you can go back, and see how many peole scanned it?
And even better, what if you could change the target of that code on the fly...

Well, I'm here to tell you - You can! Enter QReateBUZZ.com, this is a site where you can develop a code, get a hardlink QR with no tracking or, one with...

1. Create an account - it is Free...

2. Create New Campaign - upper right hand corner.Create Campaign

3. Name your campaign and save it.

Create the QR code4. Fill in your information.

  • Select the QR code Type - Text, URL, send SMS, phone number or contact (vCard).
  • Fill in all your information.
  • Name the QR ad.
  • Click Submit...
5. This is the tricky part, in the upper right hand corner, above the QR code you now see (which at this point is NOT trackable) you will see a tab for "Trackable", click that, you now have a trackable QR code.
6. Download your code and apply to marketing materials.

7... At will, go back to your code, and edit the information, as you will see, although you generate a new code, the trackable code remains the same each time.

Congratulations, you now have a trackable QR code to use.

QR code tracking

The final step is for you to go back to your tracking section, which is below the create section, and see how many times your code was scanned...

Until next time, go scan!

Thank your for sharing this information. I missed an office class on QR codes because I wanted to take an AR class instead.  I don't know why I should use a QR code on my website.  Also, do you use a QR code on your business card and what info do you embed in that code?

Thanks again for sharing the site.

Hi Nancy & Mike, thanks for the re-blog.

Janet, less for the web site, more giving people a new avenue to find it... Code on cards, so far goes to vCard and  one takes you to a video intro...

I am also new to this technology and am considering using it on my business card as my contact information.  Using it on your website is redundant unless you use it as an sms message which then it seems like it would be useful.  I believe the point is getting the consumer to your website or being able to contact you easier.  How are you using it in your business if you are?

Example of QR Code to VideoNancy & Mike, thanks for reblogging.  This is a great post.

Janet, Terkel, and Chris, you are limiting your thinking.  First, don't think of it only as containing web addresses (See my post on WHAT content you put into QR Codes.)

But also consider how they are actually used.  Sitting at work in front of your computer with your smartphone in hand.  The phones are a great platform for videos.  Follow this example with your smartphone.

Nancy and Mike, this is a great post. I was actually looking for information on re-using an old QR code, making it new with a new URL. Can this be done? You touched on this a little bit, but I would love to get a YES/NO answer. In essence, I want to re-use the printed graphic on a different application by just changing the URL; i.e. 123 single property website to 456 single property website to 789 single property website. Same graphic, different URL for each single property website. Can it be done?

Hi Kristina,

That's a good question, it seems to me that you can, i read something about it. I have not tryed to use the same graphic, just printed a new one. I will try and find something on the net.
