What Do you Say at the End of an Incredible Month of Blogging?

This is a great article I read recently here on Active Rain.  I wanted to try to re-blog it here, so others could also have the chance to see it.

Thanks

What Do you Say at the End of an Incredible Month of Blogging?

31 Day Challenge

I didn't want to write a boring post on the Last Day of the 31 Days of January Challenge. I wanted to summarize what I had learned and what I got out of this Challenge.

But then I started getting emails and personal messages instead ofHeather Chavez comments on my posts. I realized that the Group Members were saying all the things I'd wanted to say!

Here are some examples:

"your challenge made me reach deep down inside and create something that I thought would be interesting, not just something that would fill the space."

this was by Heather Chavez in her post this morning.

Margaret Woda

Then Margaret Woda said: "Connie, thanks for the challenge in January, it got me back on board with Activerain  The result:  2 new listings and 1 new buyer"  in a comment to me.

Joyce Godwin

Joyce Godwin decided to continue with the daily blogging in the new Valentine Bloggers group that is challenging members to blog everyday WITHOUT bonus points!  "I think I am going to pretend there ARE points, just in case I need that extra nudge. LOL  I want to make sure it becomes an even more rock-solid habit"

Now how cool is that?

Don Wixom

Don Wixom said yesterday:

"Here we are toward the end & I believe I have created some good habits of spending time in the Rain!"

Emily Medvec

This is what Emily Medvec said: "Your challenge made a difference for me here. The key is in the blogging. Each one is like throwing a pebble in the pond. The ripples touch many shores."    I watched as Emily became more and more comfortable with her posts. You could see it in her writing!

Brenda Whitman

I laughed out loud when I read Brenda Whitman's comments this morning. "I never would have thought of myself as a blogger and for some reason your post prompted me to go, go, go and get on with it, already."

Then she came back with a P.S. and said: "What happens to us now?  Are we going to be, gasp, dismantled?  Boo, hoo.  I feel like I just got here. . ."

Honestly I was feeling the same way!

Joe Kenny

Then this morning, Joe Kenny really summed it up: "I'm done, Thank God.  What a great discipline exercise."

These are just a small sample of the encouraging comments and kind emails I have received just in the past couple of days.

I can truly say that I got more out of this than I expected. Except for 2 or 3 days, when I was really busy, I was able to post easily. Those other days I didn't have anything in draft and I struggled a little. But I got it done.

I've made a whole new group of friends. My subscriber list has almost doubled and I've taken on mentoring a newer AR member.

Thank you everyone for a great month of blogging!

Now off to the Valentine Bloggers challenge to continue posting everyday in February!

Don, the challenge was fun wasn't it?  You certainly don't need a challenge though!  I can't believe how many posts you do in a month... phew....  But seriously, Connie was a great instigator in getting a lot of us off the fence and into the trenches AND it paid off!
