STATEN ISLAND CHUCK -- GROUNDHOG DAY Feb. 2nd!

So, tomorrow is the day ...GROUNDHOG DAY, Staten Island Chuck, New York's most famous groundhog is preparing for his big day at the Statane Island Zoo.

So how does Groundhog Day work? If Chuck peeks his head out of his home at 7:30 am on Feb. 2 and sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter and if he doesn't see his shadow, spring will arrive early.

Chuck and his family have predicted the end of winter weather accurately 23 out of the last 30 years...We'll see if hes right again this year!

Remember, Chuck only PREDICTS the weather; Chuck does NOT make it change!!

I'm not sure what Chuck saw but I woke up to 6 inches of snow this morning.  It's been a very long winter!  Best wishes for an early spring!

Renee, Chuck saw an early spring!! Keeping fingers crossed...we have seen about 24 inches in one day and hasnt stopped! Every week we keep getting more snow! Be safe!!
