It’s February 2nd known as Grondhog Day in our area. This year we have different predictions from two PA furry forecasters, one from the east and one from the west.
Octorara Orphie from the Quarryville area in Lancaster County saw his shadow this morning and predicts 6 more weeks of winter. Orphie has been determining the arrival of spring for 103 years.
Punxsutawny Phil, from an area northeast of Pittsburgh, didn’t see his shadow and is predicting an early spring. Phil is a little older than Orphie, celebrating his 125th year of predictions. To commemorate this year, Phil ventured to predict that the Steelers will win the Super Bowl.
So who is right? Stay tuned.
