Joni's Valentine Blogger's Love Series - Day 2: It's a LOVE Overdose!

Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services - Anderson Properties 518539

It's a LOVE Overdose!

I am probably the world's worst abuser of the word love.

"I love your new profile picture!"

"love Love ♥ ♥ LOVE it ♥ ♥ ♥ !"

♫ I love that song! ♪

are just three examples of comments that I make often. While the comment does reflect the fact that I really like something, does the word LOVE being used so thoughtlessly diminish the things that I really do love?

I think of the boy who cried wolf. He did it so often that he was ignored when the wolf really came.

Even worse than being ignored would be the loss of trust. If I "love" everything, what makes you or yours special?

This Valentine season I am making a commitment to use the word love when love applies and begin to "really like" more things.

I wonder how my heavenly Father feels when I tell him that I love Him and then turn around and say that I love Mexican Food?

He sent His son, Jesus, to be the Bread of Life and I compare him to fajitas. REALLY?!

No, the intention was not there, and he knows my heart...

I'm just sayin'.....

This is food for thought!

I agree with Paula.  There's no such think as too much love.  And like you said, HE knows your heart!

God is love...  His love is unconditional... our good Lord loves everyone and everything as He created it all.  As long as He is our first love and we have no other first love then our heart is in the right place.  I know what you mean though...  I say the word love a lot too.... but when I talk to Him and tell Him I love Him there is always a difference in how I express that love to Him.  Each time I read your post's I see His light shine through you...  you are a blessing to Him and me too.  Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful post...

Perhaps you're just a deeply emotional person, Joni.  No shame in feeling so much love.  Good luck with your February challenge!

Laughing OUT LOUD @ Melissa!!!

Paula: I need to put a disclaimer "I am not suggesting that I quit loving!!" :OD

Donna: Yes, but I think you get the idea! :))))

Linda: AMEN! God IS love! :))) ♥ My problem is that I sometimes get caught up in stuff and before I know it, He's not first in my heart, I am! --OR-- all that STUFF that I "love" is! I gotta watch it!

Tish: ♥ ♥ ♥ (that's cheating, isn't it! BIG GRIN!)

Kathryn: It was meant to be food for thought. I feel no shame in loving! :)))

Joni - was going to say I loved your blog, but I don't want to be too redundant with that love thing.  So, I'll just say I liked being able to respond to your blog and hope the love you have in your heart and share every day with so many, shows your love of life!!!

Joni, I am another terrible abuser of the word love. Now I don't know how to describe this post. Can I say it is very lovable?

Joni,  I really "appreciated"*  your analogy of loving the Bread of Life vs. fajitas!  A point VERY well made! Thanks!!!   *If not for this blog, I might have said "loved", but I am encouraged by you to choose my words more carefully...Blessings to you!
