The eternal optimist.

Rodney is the eternal optimist.  Does he like to go bye bye in the truck?  Heavens no.  He loves, Loves, LOVES to go bye bye in the truck!

So, I arrived home from work the other day to find dear hubby working on the roof, for the new shop he's building.  I pull into the garage and I'm pleasantly greeted by my favorite four legged fur child.  I head outside, to see what kind of trouble dear hubby is getting into....(more like making sure he hasn't fallen off a ladder or ended up with a nail gun injury).  All appears safe and sound.  So after about two minutes, I turn around to head inside to start dinner.  "Honey, where the heck did Rodney go?" ( He was JUST behind me, moments ago.)  His response...."where do you think?"

I walk over to hubby's truck....and yup, there he is!

He evidently spent the entire day there.  You'll be glad to know that Rodney was treated with a trip to Dick's Market (I'm sure we single handedly keep that little mom and pop store in business with daily purchases of pepperoni sticks; Rodney's favorite treats), AND a trip to Pet Country.

No, he's not spoiled at all...he's just an eternal optimist!

I think Rodney has the right way of thinking.  Our housing market is tough enough and I know I have a way of "beating myself up" at times.  I'm going to try to stay more optimistic myself!

If I come downstairs in the morning and I am not in a suit my dog instantly thinks she is going out for a car ride or for a walk... and it all excited... Nothing like our dogs for entertainment!

Robert...Honestly, Rodney KNOWS when it is Sunday.  (Sunday we always take a really long walk in the morning).  When he sees me getting my tennis shoes on he goes absolutely balistic!  lol

Jim, you don't know the HALF of it!  lol  Have a great day!

Thank goodness you're spoiling Rodney. If you're going to have a fur-child, I say spoil the hell out them. I do know how smart these guys can be - Mac can tell by our clothing if it's a work outing - or a fun outing. They're amazing creatures.

Rodney's a doll!

LOL I love it Karen!  I always thought dogs can teach people a thing or two about staying focused on one wants.  How cute is your little dog angel - just makes me smile thinking of him.  Warms your heart, right!  My little guy wookie who we had for 18 years was the master of focus - I'm smiling just thinking about how he had everyone wrapped around his little wookie mind!  BTW - all we had to do is mouth the word WALK and he knew!!!  Crazy time at that point.......:)

Hi Brenda!  Well he is a "shepherd".  lol   This isn't a very good picture of him but he is a handsome boy, if I do say so myself!  (touts the proud mama!)   Thanks for your visit!

Hi there Debb!  He has certainly found to have us wrapped around his finger paws!  Yup, Rodney knows, as does your Mac what "type" of day it's going to be depending on how we're dressed.  Honestly though, I SWEAR he has his own little calender and knows when Sunday rolls around!  lol.

Morning Anna!  I think you're right.  We can certainly LEARN a lot from our pets.  What did I just hear the other day.  Some little factoid that dogs have the intelligence of a two year old, in that they have a certain vocabularly and can be "taught" certain things.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a terrific day!  :-)

Hi Karen - I had an Old English Sheepdog once who loved riding in the truck. But he was really, really dumb, and if I backed the truck into its parking place, he would just jump up on the hood. Really.

Dogs can be so smart, if only we could learn to be so observant!
