Are You Experiencing A Setback In Your Career?

Everyone has setbacks in their lives. The definition is a reversal or an interruption of your career,  your health, your relations, finances, or your emotions …or a combination of some or all of them.

The period following a setback can test your faith in yourself and challenge even the strongest minds. Coming back from a setback can seem to be a daunting task unless you get in the right frame of mind. Your mindset during this period will determine how quickly you comeback …and could determine if you comeback at all.

Have you ever heard anyone mention the “School of Hard Knocks”?  The University of Hard Knocks is tough to graduate from, but once you have your degree it will pay huge dividend s in your future. Learning from life’s mistakeswill earn you a masters degree from UHK …failing to do so will lead to a dead end, a U-turn  and even more serious setbacks.

THINK POSITIVE: A Setback is only a “set-up” for a Comeback!

The goal of a comeback is to return to a former condition, a resurgence of effort focused on a particular part of your life. Start by finding a point of reference from where you want to return and a timeline for your activities to get there. Recalibrate your expectations …look at past comebacks you have personally experienced and analyze what worked then …and what didn’t. Your “comeback plan” should be as detailed as possible.

During a comeback there can be no whining or complaining, you have to remain focused and positive.

During this process you will need lots of energy, so eating right and getting plenty of sleep is essential.

Keep a winning attitude, and maintain your energy.

Complete the success activities outlined in your comeback plan …even when you don’t feel like doing them. Push through barrierswhen they appear in front of you, and don’t commit “success suicide” by allowing negative thoughts derail your plans.

Throughout history almost every success story is filled with setbacks, and challenges. A setback is not the end of the world …not even the end of the line …it’s merely an opportunity to rise to the next level!

I like the way you think Eddie!!  Nobody ever hits bulls eye on their first try...  And if they did they didn't learn anything and won't be able to do it a second, third, fourth, or fifth time!
