By

The Extremly Cold weather has brought in a lot of icey roads. Schools were closed for the Second day today. It appears that many local schools will be closed again on Thursday February 3,2011. Temperatures are supposed to drop to record lows again tonight and only get to the mid twenties on Thursday. Be careful if you venture out the roads have alot of thick ice on them. Here are some links to some of the local school district websites to verify that your school is out. Some districts are Midlothian IndependentSchoolDistrict, Waxahachie IndependentSchool District , Maypearl ISD, Ennis ISD,Red Oak ISD  and  Life School .

Also Do Not forget to wrap your pipes, Leave your faucets dripping. You do not want to get a suprise. If you want to see how your school is rating go to my community information page. It is very good. See School Information. Be careful driving. Plan Plenty of time for your drive.

The kids are happy when the schools are closed, but they are going to have a very long spring/summer!

Having been born in Waxahachie and raised in Red Oak (in fact, I lived there until 3.5 years ago), I can honestly say I do not miss the cold temperatures up there (or the snow and ice!).  Stay warm and stay safe!!

Yeah, and Texas keeps on sending those southern storms my way in southeast Missouri! Most schools started today and then dismissed early. At least, around here, folks sort of know how to cope with cold weather and snow. I feel sorry for people who are not used to it.
