Have you ever heard your friends and co workers talk about how awesome it is to live on the Eastern Shore? Have you ever tried to buy or sell a house in Annapolis? Annapolis and Stevensville are only separated by a 4.4 mile east-bound dual lane bridge across the Chesapeake Bay. Yet to crosss that bridge and live on the serene Eastern Shore, seems to be a nightmare for most potential homebuyers. Why? Because in the summer time on Friday late afternoon and on Saturday morning a lot of people head towards the Atlantic Ocean and a resort area called Ocean City Maryland. On Sunday afternoon around 2 p.m. a lot of people head west bound, back home. But those times could be avoided, couldn't they?
But honestly, what does that really mean for your commute to and from work? Seldom is it that the Bay Bridge is backed up, during the week, it is usually the Severn River Bridge. Also a lot of people are not utilizing the feature that keeps your wait to a minimum by getting an EZ-Pass. The EZ Pass is not only good for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, but for the whole United States. Making your travels to New York or Virginia also a breeze.
So how about that Bridge excuse now?
How about: It is so far! No it is not, the Bridge is only 4.4 miles long beginning to end. Really that is an issue to add 4.4 miles to your commute? But, in the summer time living "over here" actually cuts hours of your trip to the beach! You don't have to get up at 4 or 5am to take that trip... you can get up at a comfortable time and still do a daytrip to the beach and it only takes you like 90 min.
As for schools, it was just announced that Queen Anne's County Public schools rank 4th in the state.! Anymore questions? Queen Anne's county also just named one of the 50 Fido friendliest places to live.
