After two years here on Active Rain, I finally got tagged for a MeMe. Thanks, Tammy Lankford! I don't know why, but this actually made me a little giddy. I've seen them going around for others and now I feel like I've been asked to join in Active Rain-deer games.
Here are the MeMe Rules (please paste the following paragraph into your post if you are tagged):
"I'd like to know what YOUR Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) is for 2011. I'd also like to know more about you, and your background, what is it about you that makes this BHAG so important? What experiences are you bringing with you into 2011 that will make this BHAG work? So I'm asking you to please share 5 or 6 things about yourself, and then tag 5 or 6 more people so we can learn about them too!"
My 2011 goal(s)...are to post one blog a day for the entire year (which, so far, I've done...minus New Year's Day), increase Second Self's client base, build my savings account back up (last year was HARD on the funds) and settle into my new Idaho community.
Some things that only (some of) my family knows about me...
1. When I am having a particularly rough day, I listen to classical music. If I don't have a radio handy, I stream it live on Pandora.com. LOVE that station! When I was younger, my mother and I would sometimes sit out on the balcony of our apartment and read books with the classical music station on in the background. Couple that with my years of playing classical music on the flute and I think that's why it's so soothing to me.
2. When I was a teenager, I was invited to join a band made of American high school students to tour Europe for 3 weeks. Unfortunately, I was not able to go. I've regretted it ever since. I still plan on eventually making it to Europe. I wanted to for my 40th birthday, but that didn't happen either. I'll get there one day.
3. I LOVE trivia. I mean REALLY LOVE TRIVIA. I am a trivia whore. When my family gets together and plays trivia games, they tend to want to be on my side. One such game pitted just my brother and I against a dozen family members. We lost, but only just barely.
4. Books are like air to me. I read books, magazines, blogs, anything I can get my hands on. When we were packing up our belongings to move to Idaho, I had a tougher time paring down my book collection than getting rid of my clothes. I even kept romance novels (which I don't like) that were sent to me by mistake for years before I finally gave them away because I couldn't bring myself to throw them away. My son had his own library before he even came out of the womb.
5. I want to be a writer when I grow up. My sister wanted to be an actress and I would have been much happier as a writer. I think that's what draws me to blogging. It's a quick little outlet for my creative juices. I think I've passed it down to my son as well.
Hope you have learned a new thing or two about me. Now that I'm done, I'm calling "Ollie, Ollie Oxen Free" and tagging the following people: Crystal Morris (another Second Self team member), Anna Banana ('cause she's such a hoot!), Toula Rosebrock (I've enjoyed reading her posts) and Valerie Ousterhoudt ('cause she feeds my trivia addiction).
