This evening I went to a meeting at Quartz Hill High School for the girls soccer team. During the meeting the coach mention something that I was surprised to hear. He said that the budget this year for the teams was already gone - they used it to purchase new balls for the team. One of the parents asked how much the budge was and it was only $500 for the year!
Wow - that was a shock to me. I know that the budget was tight- but I did not realize how tight it was. This year for fund-raising the teams will be selling candy and the Quartz Hill High School Rebels Community Card. I know is it usually pretty easy to get people to purchase candy - but the students are not allowed to sell the candy on school grounds - so it is up to the kids to sell everything off campus.
I decided to volunteer and try to do my best to help sell the community cards. They are great and offer a variety of discounts to many of the local businesses. They are only $10 so please contact me if you would like to purchase one.
