This morning my wife and I peered out our window at a brilliant white landscape. About an inch of snow fell overnight (and is now quickly melting). A rare treat for Madisonville! I’ve combined photos and video into this YouTube feature:
Our winter weather in Madisonville TX is generally mild. Snowfalls are rare -- once or twice a year -- and the precipitation doesn’t usually exceed 3 inches. Just enough to enjoy it for a day and then return to the usual gray winter scene that awaits the arrival of our early Texas spring time. I’m ready for the warm weather again!
About those dog boots...
Patti Mae, my labrador retriever, is 11 years old; I've had her since she was 8 weeks! She's a great companion with a gentle nature.
Unfortunately, age is beginning to take its toll on Patti. She has a lot of difficulty maintaining her traction on the laminate wood floors in the house, resulting in lots of bad spills and aggravated joint pain. My wife Jennifer tracked down a pair of senior dog boots ("Ultra Paws" on seniorpetproducts.com), and their thermoplastic non-skid sole give Patti the added "cling" that she needs when walking. And they double as snow boots!
