Banks of the credit riverWelcome to Streetsville, an established community which has managed to keep its "small town" charm by retaining a variety of historical buildings and streetscapes. It is located in the North Western section of Mississauga, along the banks of the Credit River.

History of Streetsville: Streetsville is named after Timothy Street. In 1824 Mr. Street was given 1,000 acres of land as payment for his surveilance work. This new community developed 5 major mill sites along the banks of the Credit river. Mr Street's home along the banks of the Credit river is still standing today and is part of the concerted efforts of the village of streetsville to ensure the heritage of the village.Banks of the credit river

In 1962 Streetsville became a Town. In 1974 Streetsville together with Port Credit, Clarkson and Meadowvale became part of the city of Mississauga. Hazel Mc Callion who had been the mayor of Streetsville ( 1970-1973) became the mayor of Mississauga. As of February 2011 she still holds that office and lives in Streetsville.

Things to see in Streetsville: Streetsville is well known for its Bread and Honey festival, celebrating the town's history and its involvement in milling since 1973.

Canada Day Celebrations and Fireworks are held every year on July 1st to celebrate Canada's Birthday. The annual Santa Clause Parade takes place in Streetsville, starting on Queen Street south at Britannia Rd travelling south to Church Street.

 Streetsville Memorial park is a great place to relax and enjoy in the summer months. There is a minor soccar field, softball diamond , and walking trails. Vic Johnson community centre is home to the Streetsville Hockey League and Streetsville Tigers. There is an Outdoor Swimming Pool located next to the community centre which is open in the summer months.

The Streetsville GO train and GO bus are used by residents commuting to Toronto and other areas of Mississauga.
