If any member of Activerain thinks of anyone other than Margaret Rome for Baltimore MD referrals, I'd be surprised. Her posts are packed full of information about listings in the city and surrounding area, not to mention the landmarks and various local venues she writes about. I'd say Margaret pretty much "owns" Baltimore on Activerain!
Margaret shared Baltimore with about 20 other Activerainers up close and personal yesterday when she hosted an informal Activerain gathering at Suburban House Restaurant in Reisterstown. People came from far and wide, including D.C. Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York, as well as many areas of Maryland. Another Activerainer even joined us from New Mexico via balloons and a teddy bear wishing us all a wonderful afternoon.
It was wonderful to hug our Activerain friends in real life and confirm they're exactly the same people we know and love in our virtual world at Activerain. I loved meeting so many online friends face to face and I think the feeling was mutual. And yes, they did look like their photos!
"The Other Margaret in Maryland" signed her first comment to me on my first post with that name, and we've affectionately referred to ourselves that way over the past four years every time we've exchanged comments, emails and phone calls. TOMM (as she now calls herself instead of the longer "The Other Margaret in Maryland") is generous with her invitations to events ranging from open houses to book signings, from speeches given at professional organizations to Activerain gatherings, and she's always a most gracious hostess and friend.
Thank you for a lovely event and delicious lunch, Margaret. We loved it, and we love you!
