I've installed BlogRush, and I know a lot of others are installing it from ActiveRain to boost traffic to their blog. (If you need step-by-step instructions on how to install it on your ActiveRain blog, view this post. To Add BlogRush to your own blog, sign-up at the BlogRush site.).
The question is, will BlogRush effect your PageRank?
Directly, the answer is no. Since all Google can see is same javascript block that you pasted into your page, and that is all it will see on other BlogRush users' pages, there is no "link juice" to contribute to your PageRank directly.
So how do you make BlogRush work for you?
WRITE GOOD HEADLINES FOR YOUR BLOG ENTRIES
What you can get from BlogRush is traffic. And the only way you can get it is by someone seeing one of your headlines in a BlogRush widget on another site. Period. So - be sure that you write concise, clear, engaging titles for your blog posts.
ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO SIGN-UP WITH YOUR REFERRAL CODE
Just like here on ActiveRain, you get credit for the usage of BlogRush by bloggers who you refer. So, gently ask if other bloggers you know would like to try BlogRush. If they are interested, give them your referral code. As noted on the BlogRush site, DO NOT SPAM your email distribution list with requests to join BlogRush. Spamming does nothing but turn people off about a service.
So, it might not build PageRank, but the service still looks like something that can deliver traffic back to your site. And, if you're looking for other tools that work like ActiveRain on a points based system to drive results, this certainly looks to be one!
