Igloo for sale in historic Exeter, NH

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Shoreline New Hampshire & Maine

NOTE to literals, there really is an igloo but we don't have it listed for sale.

FOR SALE: Newly constructed igloo, only the finest New Hampshire river ice was used in construction. Built by local craftsmen, 1 mason, 1 contractor, and 1 crane operator (he carried the ice blocks and operated the chain saw.

Incredibly light and airy inside, temperature controlled (cold all the time), and located within easy walking distance from historic Exeter, New Hampshire. Don't miss a rare (and very limited time) opportunity to own this truly "one of a kind" home. Approximately 300 square feet, very open inside, with sparkling 9 foot ceiling.

Very private, nearest neighbor is a fishing shanty with seasonal occupants; you'll hardly know they're there when they're in residence because they tend to stay indoors most of the time.

Below is a photo of the Exeter igloo under construction showing the meticulous attention to detail and care these ice craftsmen took while building this masterpiece of the ice carvers art. That's me on the left getting instruction on how to properly set an ice block.

And in the photo below my partner 'Eskimo Annie' demonstrates how roomy and spacious the interior is.

Don't miss this rate opportunity to own this truly unique home, it's a limited time offer in more ways than one.. Once the sun comes out and it gets closer to spring it's going, going, gone.

And two of the 'coolest' Realtors in New Hampshire.

Now THIS is a fun post.  I'll bet the igloo survives to the very end...how cool would that be to see it sink in the Spring thaw!  Of course no one would be in it then!

FSBO heck, we're taking a yard sign back up there this afternoon and listing it.

Kim, the builders talked about cutting a fishing hole inside but decided against it so far; I suppose for safety reasons, Lots of visitors on the ice. Most of the fishermen in this area have "Smelt shacks" they fish from. A Smelt is a small fish

This igloo is really cool to see in person!  We got some great pictures of it and have posted more over on facebook if anyone's interested in checking them out.

Love it Jim! Heck, I bet the owner could be persuaded to put it in MLS! Some ice fishing enthusiast may just love having his own temproary custom built home that he doesn't have to worry about getting of the rivers/lakes before the thaw comes!

I always enjoy your posts, so creative, funny, useful or informative!  You might want to auction off the igloo, it's quicker and since it won't last long. I highly recommend you get the title checked on it though since the builders may have a lien on it ;-)

Very Cool, Jim (pun intended). I missed this before. Reminds me of all the ice fishing shacks we used to see on teh lakes in the winter back in MN.

Sorry Gita, a warm spell melted my listing and it has been returned to the waters.

We have plans for a bigger, better one next year; I'll announce it further in advance.
