When getting a Minnesota home loan, you will be required to verify your income. If you work for a company that provides you W2s at the end of the year, you will need to provide the following documentation. If you’ve worked for more than one company over the past 2 years, you’ll need to provide this information for each employer.
Paystubs (covering the most recent 30 days)
If available online, download entire paystub as .pdf file. If you screen print, be sure the paystub includes year-to-date information as well as month-to-date. Between now and closing keep all paystubs available as we may need to update them all the way through closing.
Note: If printing online paystubs please use the PRINTER-FRIENDLY FORMAT.
If you have the option to download the payment statement as a .pdf file, please do so and email the paystub as a .pdf to me as an attachment.
W2s (for the last 2 years)
If you worked for an employer, you would have received a W2 statement defining how much they paid you for the given year. While this statement is used by your tax preparer to calculate your taxes, it is rarely retained by them. Provide the same W2 that was provided to you by your employer.
If you do not have a copy of your W2, check with your employer to see if they have keep them available for you through their online human resources service. If they do, you can save the W2 as a .pdf file and email it to me as an attachment.
Employment verification information
We will verify your employment information through your employer within 7 days of your closing date. Please provide the phone number of who we must contact at your employer in order to verify your employment.
Many larger companies today today use an online service such as www.theworknumber.com which may require that you request a PIN (personal identification number) that you provide to us in order to secure the employment verification that we require.
