There are many things to go over when buying a home, and one of the first things you need to do is find the right Realtor that will suite your needs.
A good Realtor will offer research that pertains to specifics of your area, such as there website, or showing you around the community. They should also track and handle many of the day-to-day basics of your needs such as finding a lender, and give you certain "what if" scenarios about a contract.
Ofcourse, a buyer is going to need someone they trust and feel comfortable. They should expect loyalty and confidentiality from the agent.Your agent should promote your best interests and provide you with all available facts that could influence your decision about making an offer for a home.
Keep this in mind also... An exlusive buyer agency agreement normally ties you to one agent, and this will mean if you switch to another agent or agency, you may still owe the first original agent a commision. So be careful with who you choose! A non exclusive buyer agency will let you work with multiple agents or agencies without changing contracts, but keep in mind that most agents won't do something to that magnitude.
How do you find an agent?
Agents will be all over the area, you can drive into the heart of your town and see at least 3 with there pictures and there big smiles who are all ready to serve you. You should pick the one that you have the best personality match with, and who will always respond to calls and emails. You absolutley cannot be in the dark with the biggest purchase of your life.
