World Cup Biathlon Competition with mens and womens pursuit events held today in Presque Isle, Aroostook County Maine and your Active Rain cub reporter Andrew Mooers at the scene.

Big snow over night made the course a challenge for crews to rip and whip in to shape, but the day cleared off and what a crowd. Almost as many media there from around the world to cover the event. In Europe the World Cup Biathlon is huge and an estimated 120 million folks around the planet expected to be glued to the tube for the event. Never mind the Super Bowl Sunday this nation enjoys and parties around. Here are some images from today's IBU World Cup Biathlon event as site number seven, Presque Isle Maine in Aroostook County

Down loading video clips of the event and will get them editing, rendered, uploaded for you to sample the exciting IBU World Cup Biathlon Winter Games In Aroostook County today. The men's biathlon course in Presque Isle Maine is 2.5 kilometers long, and the women's 2 kilometers in length.

The start times in the Pursuit are based on the finish times of the previous events held Saturday in the IBU World Cup Biathlon winter games.

Interestingly, the first biathlon world cup starter is rarely the winner in this unpredictable pressure filled competition.

Stay tuned for that and the Fort Kent Maine World Cup Biathlon coverage too! Maine, winter is one of our favorite seasons. Come see why.

It was fun. Have video rendering and will add link. Food was great too. Neat to hear all the language from the many families, coaches, biathlon support and media behind the world cup competitors.

Thanks Morgan. Next bunch will be better in Fort Kent as getting photo pass to crawl on my belly like a reptile to get closer. Have 436mm lens, not 2000 like most of the media at these events.
