Whenever we pick up a neat new technology tool, we love to share it with our readers. Today, we are going to tell you about a program that not only allows you take a picture of your screen, but will also let you turn it into a video.

For those of you who haven't heard of it, the name of the program is called Jing® and is easy to download and simple to use. There is even a brief tutorial on how to use it on the website as well.

THE MANY USES OF JING

When I first started blogging, I used to notice other bloggers doing tutorials and adding pictures of their screen into the post. I had always wondered how they did it, and thought it was probably hard to do. Then I found Jing® and my questions were answered.

Here are just a few ways that you can use Jing, and some examples:

1. Add A Picture To Your Blog Post

I used this in a post to show readers of my Wordpress blog how they can share the post with their sphere.

2. Communicate with a client or friend

3. Turn A Picutre Into A Video

Many people that I know regularly post written market reports on their blogs. Jing will allow you to take this to the next step and turn it into a video market report, that you can automatically upload to YouTube, where it will be indexed, like the one I did below:

I would highly recommend taking a look at this program. It's free ( and also has an upgraded version for a mere $15 ) and will allow you to better communicate with your clients, friends, and family. Plus, people will think you are really high tech, even if you're not.

Craig - I've never used Snagit, but would be curious to learn the differences.

Bliz - The video feature is easy, you should try it sometime.

Charita - I did the same thing when I first got it, but once I started, it has become something I used on a regular basis.

Ellie - The video market report is very cool, even gets indexed by Google.

I also suggested this. I haven't used Jing but went to check it out, and it looks really good. Only reason I haven't used it is because I'm already a power user of its "older siblings" SnagIt and Camtasia Studio. In my book, any program put out by TechSmith is top quality. Jing is a great way to take advantage of the basics of my favorite applications without paying a lot - and sometimes not paying at all.
