Bin 189, located in The Lake Arrowhead Resort, has to be one of my favorite places to dine at in Lake Arrowhead. Bin 189 serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has a wonderul menu which changes seasonally. The restaurant is a popular choice for hotel guests, area visitors, and Lake Arrowhead locals. They have a beautiful bar and lounge area in front of a big stone fireplace as well as a private dining room surrounded by a floor to ceiling wine rack. The views here are amazing, almost every seat in the restaurant has a beautiful view of the lake.

On my last visit I had the shellfish chowder and the braised short rib which is served with mashed sweat potatoes and cole slaw, They marinade the short rib for a couple days before cooking it, and it pretty much melts in your mouth. I loved the chowder too which is clams, mussles, shrimp, scallops, all prepared together with taragon and topped with a puff pastry. Some of my other favorites are, the meze plate, cobb salad, grilled vegetable wrap, fillet mignon, and the chicken marsala.

No matter what time of year, or time of day for that matter, you visit I'm sure you will have a wonderful dining experience. If the weather permits I would definitely recommend sitting on the patio, which overlooks beautiful Lake Arrowhead. Don't forget to call ahead for reservations, as they do get busy. Parking can also at times be a little challenging, but they do offer valet service.

Sounds great. Is it also a wine producer? That name 'Bin 189' sounds familiar. Of course I could have the numbers wrong. After a couple of glasses big words like 'marmalade' confuse me. And numbers higher than... 10...., I need to be wearing sandals.
