No more rainmaker for me

By
Real Estate Agent with Rental Solutions Oahu

I have enjoyed my time on Active Rain. I have been in property management for several months now and have kept blogging. So far, it isnot really helping me the same way it was when I was an agent. Blogging does not seem to bring me more knowledge as a property manager or more clients either.

I have notified Active Rain to stop my account as a rainmaker. I will still check in and blog, but no more $39 a month for me.

You're still going to be here. However, I'm sorry to hear that things aren't going the way you expected. You Do what You Have to Do.

Hi Andy. I'm from Hawai'i born and raised so I know that there is a HUGE market for renters in Hawai'i. You've only been blogging here for about five months. I started getting customers six months after I started blogging.

It's too bad that you are ending your subscription but long tail key words would have helped you. I looked at some of the titles of your posts. For example, "Rental Solutions Oahu in Honolulu, Hawai'i." When people search for rental properties in Hawai'i they do NOT use those search terms. Instead they look for something like "rent Kapahulu 96816" or "rental homes Kapolei Hawaii." They are very specific in their search terms so that is what your blog title should be. Very specific... not general and vague.

You may want to read these posts from Katerina Gasset. This is free but very helpful advice.

In Hawai'i I know how competitive it is. Active Rain gives you an edge as long as you know how to work it. If it were me I would be posting pictures and videos of Hawai'i for possible renters and those home owners who are looking to rent out their home. You have so many possibilities.

Great advice from Lana.  My daughter lives and works in Honolulu and she would give the same advice I am sure.  Try it before you don't try it.

Lana has some great advice. The point to blogging is not about the poitns but capture SEO rank in google so blog about rental properties and as Lana has described. I know AR works because I have received numerous sales from it!

Andy:  Maybe the Rain can help you figure out how to make your Rainmaker account work for you.

Do you have your blogs sent to Facebook Business and to your Twitter account?  Mabe that would help and possibly Lana's suggestions.

I would interview Lana, if I were you.  She's kinda cute, too...so use Skype!
