QR Codes - Effective or Distracting?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

I'm about to order new signs and was thinking of adding a QR code. No one I know in my area is using them yet and as much as I would like to use this as a "Value Added Proposition" for using me to be your agent and my tech savviness...I also want to know the effectiveness of using and tracking QR codes.

I was just named Keller Williams Rookie of the Year for my Market Center in Hendersonville, TN just North of Nashville and I want to stay on top of the latest technology to advance my career. I also want to make smart investments of my time and money. I know QR codes are free but do I want to start adding them to business cards, signs, riders, etc...

I guess it is a conversation starter if nothing else!

Would you add a QR code to your signs to direct potential buyers to your site or individual sign riders to direct them to a Virtual Tour on their smart phone. If you are using QR codes effectively, I would love to hear about it!

The only real effective use I have seen for them is in print advertising. I see them on a lot of blogs and websites, but the customer is already there. Also, if people are reading them in print ads, what percentage are going to be extreme tech users. I kind of think they are a fad, but just my opinion.

Congrats on Rookie of the Year!

Congratulations on your Rooke of the Year achievement.  When it comes to QR codes one of the best ways I can think to use them is on a sign rider.  Let's face it brochure boxes are a pain and at least if you have a buyer who is tech savvy they can quickly scan the image and have all the information they need about the property right at hand.

Thanks for posting. I just read your post on Is your agent Tech Savvy. How funny! I appreciate your feedback. Monte Pratt from Jack Pratt Signs did an awesome job redesigning my signs and has the best service I've ever seen. I found him on Active Rain as well. I think I'm going to put a small QR code on the next 6 signs and test it. It will send them to my listings page on my website. At least it shows I'm trying to stay ahead of the tech game and make it easier for potential clients to find information quickly. Like I said, maybe it will be a conversation starter!
