SOOTHE THE SENSES WHEN SHOWING YOUR HOME
Selling a beautiful home is an art in itself. When preparing to show a home that is elegantly designed, tastefully furnished and perfectly maintained, how can you achieve an aesthetic advantage over other, equally remarkable homes?
The secret is to create a positive emotional impact by appealing to the senses with subtle touches. Please the eye of the beholder by maximizing the brightness in every room.
Open all curtains and turn on every lighting fixture in the house. Vases of brilliantly colored flowers provide visual stimulation in neutral areas, and healthy potted plants or trees will enliven the look of any room.
Next consider the sense of smell. Sometimes traces of mold will linger in older homes, and pet odors that go unnoticed by fond owners can offend buyers who don't keep pets. Freshen each room with a natural spray or a scented candle to create a pleasant environment.
Before your REALTOR® arrives with the potential buyer, turn off every noise-making device in the home and program your music system to play soft classical or instrumental music. Your home will be a feast for the senses.
