Wireless is cool and neat. Whether it is using a wireless phone compared to a corded phone or using wireless to connect to the Internet compared to needing to connect using a network cable.
Most users including myself have a few gadgets that unfortunately need different charging adapters. An adapter for the Blackberry. A different charger for the laptop. A different charger for the iPad. True that there are desk "charging stations" that cost about $30 from the stores that would keep the wires nice and neat for all your devices. Yet a more convenient (and expensive) way is to get a wireless charging system such as the Powermat.
The Powermat, which cost about $100, is a small mat the size of a small skateboard when unfolded that can charge a device by just placing it on top of it. The device do need a special Powermat receiver and currently there are only for certain iPhone, Blackberry, and other devices costing about $30 and up.
Being able to wirelessly charge a device sounds very interesting and seems to be the wave of the near future. At this time there are too many devices around that it is just too expensive to buy them all so waiting for the technology to mature a little and the price to go down. Maybe they might even have a solar power option by then.
