HGTV and other like minded shows are a big hit to most people and I am glad they are available to everyone. These shows help clients and Realtors so much in todays tight market. They educate the public and when us Realtors show up it makes it so easy to explain why their house is not up to standards. Often when I meet with sellers and explain their house needs new paint put over the purple walls and the yellow counter tops do need replaced. The overgrown shrubs need removed and make curvatures in the landscaping or a good trimming at the least. The dirt in between the shrubs does need mulching and winter pansies would be a nice to bring color around all the green. LOL
Working with buyers on a day to day schedule I see the reaction of their faces when they see a home that could be a very nice home with some touches like a little paint, carpet and a fresh landscaping and then they walk away and buy a home that is less desirable. But of course, that home has nice neutral colors and nicely landscaped and mulched likes a million dollar home but was no where near the quality of the other home. Sad how the seller of the nicer home knew more than we did but the buyer chose the other home because of what was told to the seller of the nicer home.
