Just Dance in the Snow

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

Bear Dancing in the Snow - Feb. 2011When life throws you for a curve and things just don't go the way you had hoped then you have a new opportunity.

Making an adjustment to our business to meet with our economic climate is such an opportunity.  Re-invent yourself.

Realizing that business as usual just doesn't hold true you need to tweak and mold your business to seize new avenues, fresh opportunity.

Short sales, foreclosures, new mortgage programs to assist varied individuals who qualify by profession all present vibrant forms of business.

Stay up on change, becoming more knowledgeable about mortgage lending changes & requirements, understanding the appraisal challenges with rules and regulations are all critical to maintaining excellence in our profession.

Instead of singing the blues about how things use to be - adopt an attitude of what things will be .. and how much stronger your business will become.

So when the climate changes and snow cascades down, just go outside and embrace the fact that things are just the way they are for this moment of time.  Then have fun dancing in the snow and turning what could be a downer into a positive.

Good post Connie.  We have to change with the times to stay relevant and have a strong grasp of the basics too.

Christine - one of the joys of this profession is the ability to make each day a new one filled with different tasks.  Fun in marketing and the ability to make it just what we want .. what a gift that is.  One thing we have total control of in our business .. how we react and our attitude.  All so very critical to success.  Positive thoughts, positive results!

Elizabeth - one must always keep the foundation to build the business.  I will never forget one KW speaker, a Top agent in our area who visited our office and gave us some pointers.  She said that she had built a top business and all were just beating her doors down for her to list to their homes.  Then she started going on appointments and noticed that more people opted to list with another Realtor, she lost the opportunity.  She stepped backed and discovered she had just got sloppy in her presentation, research, etc.  Had neglected the basics.  Once she corrected business success dramatically improved.  You have it absolutely right!

Toula - how sweet for you to recall Bear's name - she was having a great time outside, dancing, biting at the snow as it came down.  My other little wimpy dog (Rat Terrier) wouldn't have a thing to do with it and clung to me like a baby and of course I did just that, babied her.

Thanks ladies for your visit and comments - love my AR friends!

Cameron - that is my big black lab, Bear and she was having a blast.  It fired her up and she was covered with snow by the time she was finished.  Good thing she has a heavy fur coat!

Each day is a gift and we'll be good if we stay thankful and stay positive whatever the circumstance. Choose to enjoy the moment for you cannot turn it back...

I do a funny dance in the snow everyday... trying to stay vertical without falling on my tush. We roll with all of the challenges that are presented to us! It's all we can do. My pug Harley enjoys his chance to get a little action in all of this snow too...

Thanks for your good words and positive thoughts.

Instead of singing in the rain, you could be singing in the snow. Actually, I think singing in the snow would be better than singing in the rain. Much more fun, I would think.

Connie - First and foremost, it's so true that we have to stay on top of all the changes going on in our market as well as our industry.  As an MLO in Los Angeles & Ventura counties, this is absolutely vital for me in order to best serve my borrowers and their agents.

On another note, as a long time dog mama, LOVE the dancing doggy.  ABSOLUTELY PRECIOUS!!!
