The other day while driving I heard a “News Flash” on the radio…”More bad news for the housing industry.” Always keen on what the “experts” are saying I turned the radio up. The news reporter went on to say, “It will cost you more this year to buy a home compared to last year. Interest rates have gone up to 4.74%.” REALLY? Am I really hearing this correctly? Is not 4.74% an out of this world rate? When I was a kid my parents would have killed for a rate like that. I remember them saying they were so thrilled to get a home loan locked in at
12.5 %. Let’s keep this all in perspective.
With home prices still inching down, I would say this News Flash was a News Crash into the abyss of negative thinking.
