Listing Appointment..Miniature Village..a Fun Afternoon in Baltimore!

By

Today I went on a listing appointment and found this miniature Village. These homeowners are in the process of getting their home, of 42 years, ready to go on the market. It will take a bit of time to decide what to do with everything, divide it up among the family and what to take with them. One of the things that will not be moving is the room below full of eye candy. Not sure if I will get the listing..they are interviewing another agent or two.

But I had a fun afternoon in this former bedroom which now houses this complete train garden in a miniature village setting. It is a wonderful collection by a couple who have worked on this in partnership. He built the suspended railroad bridges and she hand painted all the buildings. There are many stories that go with this amazing collection.

Much of the exhibit is motorized. Take a close look at the bumper cars in the picture above. They were all moving!

The same for the ride above..notice that the umbrellas are down near the ground and then again up top.

The buildings were all painted by hand. Lots of eye candy in this collection.

The swings on the ride above are moving. We had to stop the prop on the hot air balloon above to see it...and yes those teacups are going round and round.

And what village can be complete without a First National Bank?

When I get the listing, I will show you the house but for now... the miniature village will be my treat for tonight.

My husband and I have often talked of doing something like that if we ever fully retire, but this looks like a lifetime hobby... 'couldn't assemble that in just a few years.  If the property owners put half that attention into their home (and I'm betting they have), I'm betting they won't have any trouble selling their home at a fair market price.

Hi Margaret: WOW! I don't think I would have been in any hurry to leave--what a great job they have done. I love all the ways people have to express themselves and enjoy their lives. It's the spice of life and sharing in it is one of the joys of being a service provider.

I'm sure you'll get this listing--how could you not? Your experience and character shine through to anyone who meets you, and are proof that you put the same level of detail into your work as they have in this.

John D. Thanks for being the first to comment.

John, I needed to photograph this with or without a listing.

Ellen, If I bring kids in...the house will be sold for sure.

Margaret, You are so right. Attention to detail is evident through out this home.

James, Good morning to you.

Jay, Thanks for stopping by.

Barbara, Will try to sell the display.

Tish, Don't think there will be room in their new home for this display.

Julissa, Glad to see you. This is a special couple and a special home with more eye candy for more blogs.

Dan, This display was fit for a museum.

Wow Margaret, that is quite a collection.  We set up a small village at the holidays, but it is nothing like that.
