Allyssa cheering first game since car wreck Many, many thanks to all of you on the Activerain Network, who have been praying and supporting my family since my youngest daughter, Allyssa's Allyssa's car wreck on July 14th. Allyssa wreck

 The Fixator

She had her second surgery LAST Friday to remove the external fixator attached to her pelvic and THIS Friday night she was able to cheer for the first time. It was a long 9 weeks !

Brad Andershon wrote an online card for her on Activerain and then sent it to her in the mail so we have it forever, and she read every comment. Thank you, Brad and all the well wishers. It meant so much to us.

While she was in the hospital, she received so many cards and flowers from fellow bloggers, Lola, Cyndee, Karen, Joanne, Ashley, Jo-Anne, Thesa, Susie, Karen, Maggie, Paula, and many others that I have never met. But, hopefully... someday.

The Christianity and Real Estate Group here in Activerain was so encouraging, praying for her and always asking how she was doing.

Thanks to everyone that commented and asked about her all the time on Facebook. That was such a blessing to log on and realize you all were still thinking about her.

If you're reading this and have no clue what I'm talking about your can read the original post here and the update here.

Allyssa first game cheering since wreckI wanted to share the good news about how she is doing and how her dream was fulfilled that she would be able to cheer again before the end of the year. Since it looks like Saline will make the playoffs, she will get a few more games in and she is excited about this.

Thanks for being more than a Real Estate blogging community to our family. Allyssa cheering first game since car wreck

Leigh Brown, Linda Davis, Desiree Daniels, Sarah Cooper, Thank you it was a really incredible night and she was so determined to make this happen. Her physical therapists called her stubborn, I called her walking towards her dream and goal.

I learned alot from her. Personally, I don't think I ever enjoyed a game as much as this one. Well when I was watching the game. ( and not her )

Midori, thanks so much we're excited too. Yes, my whole family was terrific, everyone pitched in and drove her around, picked her up from rehab and did her chores.

She's an inspiration....I just read Jeff Turners post and watched the video on Randy Pausch.  She over came her wall.  Glad to see everyone back to some normality.

This is truly a testament to her strong will and desire.  I was hoping this would happen, but I thought it very unlikely given the extent of her injuries.  Cheerleading is an important part of her identity and I know it must have been hard for you to let her go out there with the risk that she might fall or injure herself while still healing.  She's lucky to have a mom who thinks of her spirit not just her body.

Irina, thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate it.

Bob, I have Jeff's bookmarked to watch when I have an hour to sit still.

Joanne, :) Thanks hope all is well with you.

Gail, I believe all her care givers were shocked too. She still can't do the jumps and her coach won't let her stunt, which I am grateful for. But, the main thing is she can be on the side line doing all the cheers and being with the team. Allyssa is very strong willed.

Thank the Lord for your good fortune! We are so alike, as my daughter had won two Ohio state High School championships in volleyball and softball. Then she had surgery for a herniated disk her senior summer. She came back and won a third championship in volleyball her senior year. I know the ups and the lows you all went through. I still have dreams of her in pain but I have the memories of her after the game to make up for it. God Bless you, David

Yes, I agree with David.  Something more was going on there for both of you.  Both are beyond what medical science would have expected.

Missy,

I have been so distracted that I missed this!  I saw you post on Gary's blog this morning and thought, "I wonder how Alyssa's doing..."  Seriously.  She looks fantastic, what a trooper. (she looks like her mom too)

Gail, yes I believe that too.

Lupe, thanks for commenting and I'm glad your daughter made it back too. It is so important to them.

Chris, thanks did you see the link to your post on Sexual Predator on my last post ? The hard part now is weening her off the strong narcotic's. It has been hard, sweats, nausea.
