DC Neighborhood Projects: Rhode Island Station

By
Real Estate Agent with REALTY PROS

I'm sure if you have recently traveled down Rhode Island Ave. towards the Home Depot or taken the WMATA Red Line towards Silver Spring, you have seen the construction of Rhode Island Station.

PRESENT:

NOMA

Rhode Island Metro Station

Rhode Island Station will be a 370,000 s.f. mixed-use development  adjacent to the Rhode Island Avenue Metro Station. The project is being built by Rhode Island Avenue Metro, LLC - a partnership of Mid-City Urban LLC and A&R Development - along with Bozzuto to create 274 luxury rental apartments.

Rhode Island Station is geared to be its own community with 70,000 s.f. of retail space to include local micro-breweries, coffee shops, cafes, pizza venue, fitness center, outdoor pool and cabana, bike path, and 310-car parking garage.

Rhode Island Station reinforces the prevailing trend of urban real estate planning with location and convenience being the driving force.  As we have seen with communities in Northern Virginia such as Rosslyn and Maryland such as Bethesda, the focus for revitalization and development start around the metro stations creating walkable communities.

FUTURE:

Rhode Island station

dc walkable communities

The scheduled delivery date is in the Fall of 2011.
