The town of Friday Harbor was incorporated in 1909 and is located on the eastern shore of San Juan Island in a chain of Washington's islands in the northernmost area of Puget Sound.  Strategically situated between Canada's Vancouver Island and the Washington State mainland, Friday harbor's port and airport are U.S. Customs points of entry into the country.
