Start filling in The Social Media Planning Matrix based on your business priorities. Make sure that each social media venue that you choose does the following:
- Advances one of the specific goals that you have set as an important priority.
- Addresses a specific target audience that are directly related to your business goal.
- Reinforces marketing efforts that are already in place for that goal and target audience
- Stays within the budget allowed
Remember that Social Media is one tool in your arsenal of business and marketing tools. It is not a marketing panacea. Use it wisely to build your brand awareness both online and offline.
Be consistent with your message and your content and stay focused on attracting the clients that you want to attract.
Social Media Rule: How many contacts will you invite to your social profile each day? (no more than 30 a day)
Social Media Exercises:
- Start Compiling a list of topics to discuss. This can include tips, articles or videos to upload.
- Schedule time (just 30 minutes a day) to spend on one Social Media Site
- Be sure to allow your personality to shine through. Stay professional, but real!
