Donna, I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and still can't believe people are living out in the desert. I remember driving for miles and miles to get to Mammoth. Of course I remember when there was one diner in Mojave and it was big news when they got a MickyD's.

Lucky - you are correct - a swamp cooler is an air conditioner - it is just not central a/c

Dena- The Antelope Valley is still desert, but at least you do not have to drive miles to get to great food and shopping! This home is actually more in the Rosamond area - but it has a Mojave address

Lucky it's a cold water cooling system instead of a refrigerated system. They are effective where it's hot and dry.

I'm just not used to hearing the term "swamp" connected to something that is good. They might want to refer to it as a water-cooled air system. But maybe that is too long. Oh well.
