It is Not What You Buy, But What is in Your Heart that Matters for Valentines
Don't get me wrong, I love flowers
and being spoiled. I also have recently seen my husbands face of nearly 15 years (this March) tear up as he explained that he almost lost me.
You see, I had an accident while snorkeling and nearly lost my life. My husband a good friend were there to realize that I was in some kind of seizure (while out in the ocean-50 yards from shore), and they were able to float me to shore, put me on my side and get the ambulance running to help.
Most of the time when I talk about it, I joke about it because I do not want to think of what could have happened. I remember talking to the paramedic in the ambulance when I finally came to and him telling me that I could have had a reaction to something or possibly a stroke.
My response to his 'stroke' comment was "YEAH, back stroke or breast stroke" that is when they figured I was alright for now I guess.
So, for me (at least until we hopefully find out from the neurology appointment this Wednesday) I am ok with not getting dozens of roses or a box of chocolates that I really do not need.
I have my sweetheart and I am very lucky to even have this Valentines Day with him, my awesome family and friends.
